There are no teams I pity more than those of the Fotbollsallsvenskan — a men’s league that is the top rung of pro soccer in Sweden. That’s because their road schedules are brutal, especially in November. Sweden is a long country, and when, say, Gefle IF travel to play Kalmar FC, as they did recently, that’s a 700-mile round trip from north of Stockholm to south of that city, on Sweden’s east coast.
But the show must go on, and so Gefle made the trek … accompanied by one fan.
And that diehard sat alone in the stands, freezing his gevärskolv (thanks, Google), being rewarded with a Gefle win.
