Hollywood loves a reboot. So too does the basketball world.
You might have heard this summer’s resounding box office winner Jurassic World, which is technically a chronological sequel to the preceding Jurassic Park trilogy but, for all intents and purposes is a reboot of the franchise, smashed records, grossing an obscene $208 million domestically on its opening weekend.
You also might have heard NBA MVP Stephen Curry led the 67-win Golden State Warriors on a torrid playoff run en route to the franchise’s first championship in 40 years, which is technically a chronological sequel to Curry leading Davidson on a charmed Elite Eight run in the 2008 NCAA Tournament, but for all intents and purposes is a reboot of Curry’s basketball saga.
