The Jets were almost able to make it through a full season without a single player testing positive for COVID-19, but that streak officially came to an end on Wednesday. Perine tested positive according to head coach Adam Gase, and contact tracing is underway to determine any high-risk close contacts.
With Perine out of the lineup, expect Frank Gore and Ty Johnson to split the carries in their season finale vs. the New England Patriots as long as both players are active. Gore led the team with 14 carries last week vs. the Browns, while Perine had nine and Johnson had two.
