Nihar Janga just owned the Scripps National Spelling Bee. The 5th Grader, nicknamed the Machine, won the championship in his very first attempt. He is co-champions with Jairam Hathwar after failing to win it solely in two opportunities. Janga basically went up to the podium ever single time and schooled both the word caller and the audience. It was Janga who was giving the languages of origin and the definition, not the speaker. We think that he probably wanted to share the crown with Hathwar and that’s the only reason he ever misspelled any words at all.
The best part of “The Machine’s” victory?
