Kevin Pillar Out 10-14 Days

Mike Puma reports New York Mets outfielder Kevin Pillar will require surgery to repair his nose after being hit by a pitch in the seventh inning Monday night.

The pitch, thrown by Jacob Webb, had a velocity of 94.5 MPH, according to Baseball Savant. Pillar was able to walk away under his own power and noted the only damage was to his nose, which he will surgery to reset several nasal fractures. Once the surgery is completed, he is expected to resume baseball activities in 10-14 days.

In his first season with the New York Mets, Pillar has appeared in 28 games, currently slashing .
