The Minnesota Twins have placed starting pitcher Kenta Maeda on the 10-day injured list with a groin injury. Reportedly, Maeda has been dealing with the issue over his last couple of starts, explaining his slow start to the season.

Maeda has fallen off the pace he set last season when he finished second in Cy Young voting, already matching his home run total from last season and surpassing his walk total in 24 fewer innings. That, in part, has contributed to the Twins’ terrible start as they currently sit last in the AL Central, behind even the Detroit Tigers.
