Kent State notched an apparently ho-hum, 45-13 victory over Delaware State on Saturday, but made history in the process.
Golden Flashes kicker April Goss, a former high school soccer player, became the second woman to score in a major college football game, kicking the extra point after the team’s fourth touchdown to give Kent State a 29-6 lead.
Starting kicker Shane Hynes originally went out before head coach Paul Haynes called a timeout and sent Goss out instead.
