Pittsburgh Pirates’ third baseman Ke’Bryan Hayes appeared in two games this season before being forced to the sidelines with a left wrist injury. Hayes is nearing his return to action, and it’s anticipated that he rejoins the Pirates on Thursday, the day he’s eligible to be taken off the 60-day injured list.
Hayes arrived in the MLB last year and made an immediate impact, putting up a 1.124 on-base plus slugging percentage (OPS) in 95 plate appearances over 24 games. He picked up exactly where he left off, putting up a 1.229 OPS in seven plate appearances this season before suffering the wrist injury.
