As Matt Damon said after winning a big case against a corrupt insurance company in The Rainmaker: “Well, the money’s not in the bank yet.”
Erin Andrews won a $55 million award from the jury in the notorious Peephole Stalker case today, as a jury found in her favor against stalker Michael David Barrett, who videotaped her through a peephole during her stay in Nashville hotel in 2009.
The original lawsuit asked for $75 million.
The jury deliberated for less than eight hours, splitting the blame — and the damages — roughly equally between Barrett, who will have to pay about $28 million, and the two companies, which are on the hook for about $26 million.
