Here’s something you may not have known: if you’ve got a judge in your county who just doesn’t get it, apparently the DA can have him thrown off of a case preemptively. Judge Aaron Persky, as you know, is the judge who handed down a ridiculously light sentence in the Brock Turner sex assault case last month — in which Turner was convicted of raping an unconscious woman behind a dumpster on the Stanford campus.
Persky sentenced Turner to only six months in jail — and the former Stanford swimmer will serve only three months of that with good behavior.
