Josh Reddick Agrees to Minor League Contract With Diamondbacks

Reddick has spent the past four years with the Astros, but he announced that he is signing a deal with the Diamondbacks. It’s a minor league contract that will pay him $750K if he reaches the majors, and he will report to the Diamondbacks alternate training site. Reddick has a relationship with Diamondbacks general manager Mike Hazen and assistant general manager Amiel Sawdaye dating back to his time with the Red Sox.

Reddick just turned 34 years old, and he’s been roughly a league-average hitter over his past three seasons. He’s posted a wRC+ between 94 and 99 in each of his past three seasons, and he’s the rare left-handed batter that has actually fared better against left-handed pitching.
