The Los Angeles Angels provided an update on Jose Quintana after he left his start early on Sunday. Quintana made it through just three innings of his start against the Oakland Athletics before he was removed with left shoulder discomfort, as reported by Rhett Bollinger.

It’s been a down year for Quintana as he’s made it out of the fifth inning just once this season. Quintana has pitched 30.2 innings over eight starts while allowing 27 earned runs, five home runs, and 22 walks. His advanced metrics are equally concerning, as Quintana ranks near the bottom of many of the categories.
