HOUSTON — Texans defensive end J.J. Watt re-injured his back this week against the Patriots, but the star player will seek a second opinion before he accepts a placement on injured reserve.
Watt is in New York today to consult with top brand and marketing experts on how getting injured could impact his image and how he can capitalize on the injury for maximum exposure and brand awareness.
“His marketing team has really pushed toughness, hard work and dominance as his core brand attributes,” said Gregg Ayotte, an advertising executive in the Houston area. “And now he’s laid up with a bad disc in his back, unable to do anything physical, no different than millions of out-of-shape fat guys in America with a bad backs.
