As a society we have a basic, unwritten agreement that when it comes to the three major meals of the day, the one that you are most likely to be particular about is breakfast. Which is fair.
Breakfast gets your day started, and all of main breakfast options are pretty agree upon. Lunch and dinner have ranges that breakfast just doesn’t. No one will ever invite you to breakfast and then ask you to choose between sushi and Italian. The options for breakfast are universally agreed upon; and that’s comforting.
For sports announcer Jim Nantz though, breakfast dates used to invite a lot of stress and disappointment; and there is no room for such melancholy when enjoying the most important meal of the day.
