Baez has been dealing with a lingering hand injury, last playing in the team’s 4-3 win over the San Francisco Giants on June 6, going 0-for-4 with a fielder’s choice that scored pitcher Kyle Hendricks. In 54 games this season, Baez is slashing .240/.276/.480 with 14 home runs, putting him tied for ninth in the majors.
