According to Ian Rapoport, the Seattle Seahawks and defensive tackle Jarran Reed will be parting ways. The Seahawks engaged Reed in contract restructuring, but the two sides arrived at an impasse, and talks fell apart. It’s noted that Reed will either be released or traded.
Reed started all 16 games for the Seahawks last season, putting up 38 tackles, one forced fumble, and 6.5 sacks, which was the second-most on the Seahawks. As a unit, Seattle ranked seventh in the league with 46 sacks.
Reed became expendable after Seattle re-signed Poona Ford a little over a week ago and followed that up by signing Kerry Hyder to a three-year deal on March 23.
