The Arizona Cardinals continue to add veteran free agents to their Kyler Murray-led team. Arizona picked up former Pittsburgh Steelers running back James Conner and signed him to a one-year deal on Tuesday.
Conner flew to Arizona for a meeting with the team on Monday, and just a day later, the deal was done. The 25-year-old had a disappointing 2020 season playing in just 13 games, rushing for 721 yards and six touchdowns on the ground. Pittsburgh threw the ball more than any other team, so Conners’ carries were often limited even when healthy. Conner will again play under James Saxon, who worked as the Steelers’ RB coach from 2014-2018.
