I’m sure Charlie Strong has heard his fair share of Kenny Rogers while living in Texas, especially the iconic line from “The Gambler”:
“You’ve got to know when to hold ’em, know when to fold ’em, know when to walk away, know when to run.”
Well if I were Strong right now, I would grab up my belongings as fast as I could and sprint to Coral Gables to take the job at the University of Miami.
Is Miami anywhere near the job Texas is? Hell no.
But sometimes when you’re in a personal or business relationship that both parties can tell is a bad fit, it’s best to shake hands, wish each other the best and head in opposite directions.
