Iowa is still reeling over the Stanford Marching Band’s fake cow.
Fresh off of the comical Iowa Caucus, where the state had the full attention of the nation, Iowa seeks to regain some of its lost publicity with a very vacuous legislative bill. State Sen. Mark Chelgren, R-Ottumwa, has introduced Senate File 2081, which would prevent the three Iowa universities from “cooperating with Stanford University”, unless Stanford apologizes for the marching band’s performance at the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1.
As you know, the band mocked Iowa’s farming ways with a somewhat scattered series of depictions, among them a farmer formation, a salute to farmer dating, and a nine-foot cow.
