When you’re trying to make a name for yourself in baseball’s independent leagues hitting a home run is usually a good thing, but not for Brandon Thomas.
The Gateway Grizzlies outfielder smashed a grand slam in Sunday’s Frontier League game that sailed far over the fence and into the adjacent parking lot, where it obliterated his windshield.
That’s bad news when you’re playing for an indy league salary.
Considering how far beyond the fence the parking lot is, that’s a pretty impressive shot. Just another foot and it would have spared his car, though.
