Mike Francesa, the Sports Pope, didn’t bother giving his latest sermon to Rick DiPietro. Instead he just decided to obliterate him.
Last week, Francesa spoke about how the Islanders aren’t nearly as big of a story as they should be in New York, despite being in the second round of the playoffs. John Tavares should be the biggest star in New York and instead he’s more of a cult hero. Evidently WFAN reached out to the Islanders to try and invite head coach Jack Capuano on with Francesa. The Islanders responded that they didn’t have enough time to make Capuano available for Francesa and obviously that didn’t sit well with the Pope.
