Idaho’s Paul Petrino Restrained After Altercation With Reporter

When your football team wins two games in two seasons, the media will have some not-so-nice things to say about it. That’s the inevitable, fair dynamic. Paul Petrino does not care for this dynamic.

Moscow-Pullman Daily News sports editor Michael-Shawn Dugar wrote a scathing column on Thursday, detailing an altercation between Petrino and several media members at a recent Idaho practice.

At the end of Wednesday’s practice, Petrino turned to the sideline and asked me and a reporter from the Lewiston Tribune, “Did you guys see enough deep balls today?” He was referring to my story in Wednesday’s paper discussing the team’s work-in-progress vertical passing attack.
