There are some words that just don’t go together, like “peanut butter and mayonnaise sandwich” and “Arkansas football and concealed weapons.” But Arkansas governor Asa Hutchinson, in his wisdom, just approved a measure that would allow people with a concealed weapons license to carry handguns at many state facilities — among them the state capitol, and yes, University of Arkansas football games.
However, cooler heads may yet prevail. Today the Arkansas State Senate voted 22-10 to exempt college sports events from the new law. The bill will now head to the Arkansas House.
