I’ve always admired surfers. Forget their ability to catch and ride a wave into shore, but as a below average boogie boarder, surfers ability to just stand up on their board has impressed me. I’ve tried standing on my board hundreds of times, always resulting in falling face first into a wave. The professional surfers ride much bigger and much scarier waves than I try at the Jersey Shore and somehow they have much greater amounts of success. But not all professional surfers have the ability to ride a Maverick.
As described on this week’s edition of HBO’s “Real Sports”, Mavericks are the biggest and baddest waves in the world.
