ESPN’s Field Yates reports that Green Bay’s newly signed tackle, Jared Veldheer, has now been placed on the NFL’s reserve/COVID-19 list due to a positive test. Green Bay was allowed to sign Veldheer from the Indianapolis Colts even though he started in their Wild Card game against the Bills. Veldheer was on the Colts’ practice squad and was not signed to the protected 53-man roster. He was expected to give Green Bay some cover after starting left tackle David Bakhtiari, who was lost for the season with a torn ACL.
With Veldheer testing positive for the coronavirus, one has to wonder if this is a contained situation or if other players could also be at risk.
