Cassie Sturtz of Pine Forest High School (NC) was suspended for two games for ignoring the ball and delivering a flying tackle on her Pinecrest High opponent during a girls soccer game last week. Initially Sturtz wasn’t even given a red card. Oh well, that’s American soccer. Let’s take a look.

Ernie Fisher, regional supervisor for soccer officials in the Cape Fear region, said that the officials calling the game originally did not assess Sturtz a penalty.
