Georgia Flies in Parents of Hospitalized Southern Player

Georgia has admirably come to the aid of Southern WR Devon Gales, who was hospitalized with a spinal injury against the Bulldogs on Saturday.

Gales suffered several fractures in his neck which were stabilized by surgery, according to a statement from Southern, and has movement in his upper body.

According to DawgNation’s Seth Emerson, Georgia flew in Gales’ parents from Louisiana and UGA staff drove them to Athens. Mark Richt and UGA OC Brian Schottenheimer and his family have visited Gales. From Emerson’s story:

“We’re trying to cover him up with as much love as we can, and let him know that we care, let him know that we’re here to help,” Richt said.
