The best part of this story for me is that Scooter Gennett was calling himself Scooter all the way back in third grade (more on that below). But I’m weird.
Gennett, of course, had one of the biggest offensive days in the history of MLB recently when he hit four home runs for the Reds in a 13-1 win over St. Louis. Gennett wasn’t even supposed to start that day, and was playing out of position in left field.
He grew up in Cincinnati, and today one of his former teachers came to his game with a special gift, and a great memento.
