Floyd Mayweather Claps Back At Conor McGregor

The idea of a cross-discipline sporting event has always been as exciting for fans as it is hilarious to professional athletes, and it shouldn’t be too hard to understand why. A Conor McGregor-Floyd Mayweather Jr. boxing match sounds like the kind of hypothetical argument fodder that you and your friends would argue about at the lunch table in middle school because there is no precedent something like this can actually happen. Well, sort of — there was that one time Muhammed Ali decided to step into the ring with Japanese pro wrestler Antonio Inoki in 1976. For an idea of just how awful an idea that frankenfight turned out to be, here’s a fun little recap: Ali (who didn’t throw a punch until the 7th round) nearly needed his legs amputated after 15 rounds of literally getting kicked around the ring until the judges called the match a draw.
