The dorm complex at Cal-Bakersfield is made up of six buildings — each named after locations in J.R.R. Tolkein’s Lord of the Rings: Rivendell, Rohan, Entwood, Numenor, Dobry, and Lorien. From their web site: Dorm facilities include a first floor lounge in each building, a dining commons, a swimming pool, a sand volleyball court, a pond, and a parking lot.
