First Duke, Now Virginia Exits ACC Tournament Following Positive COVID-19 Test

For the second straight day, COVID-19 is the lead story in the ACC Tournament. The Associated Press reports that today’s semifinal contest between the Virginia Cavaliers and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets has been canceled following a positive test within the Cavaliers team. This comes after Duke was forced to withdraw from the tournament yesterday following a positive test by one of their walk-ons.

With Virginia out of the tournament, per ACC rule, Georgia Tech will advance to the finals on Friday to face North Carolina vs. Florida State’s winner. Virginia came in as the top seed coming in the tournament after a 13-4 conference record with an 18-6 overall record.
