Michigan fans still shudder at the name: Armanti Edwards.
The former Appalachian State quarterback was an outstanding four-year starter in the FCS, winning national championships as a freshman and sophomore. He most famously led the Mountaineers’ massive, 34-32, upset over No. 5 Michigan at The Big House in 2007.
Edwards was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft, seeing scant playing time as a QB/WR.
During the 2013 season he was cut by the Panthers and picked up by the Browns, who dropped him in December. He was cut by the Bears just before the 2014 season started.
