For months, states have come up with their own ways of monitoring and regulating daily fantasy sports. Some states want thousands of dollars of fees, while others are asking for much less in order for daily fantasy companies to operate. There is zero uniformity in each state’s decision, making it very tough for the fantasy sports industry to navigate their way. This lack of transparency could cost thousands of workers their jobs and cause many small businesses to shut down.
Enter the federal government.
Today, the federal government’s House Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing and Trade will hold a hearing titled “Daily Fantasy Sports: Issues and Perspectives.
