Fans Storm Field At Brazilian Soccer Game For Mass Brawl: One Guy Beaten With Patio Umbrella

Club de Regatas Brasil and Centro Sportivo Alagoano are fierce rivals in Campeonato Brasileiro Série B — the second tier of Brazilian pro soccer. If the videos below are any indication, I can’t imagine what a rivalry is like in Série A.

After Club de Regatas won the league championship game, 1-0, on Sunday, many fans decided that matters had not yet been settled. A mob stormed the field and began beating on each other, as most of the police were occupied in the stands holding off violence there. Five people were injured badly enough to be taken to the hospital — with one, a 17-year-old, getting pummeled with fists, feet and, inexplicably, a patio umbrella.
