REDWOOD CITY, CA — EA Sports has apologized for a glitch in this year’s Madden NFL release that has gone viral with hundreds of players sharing videos of scenarios in which the game lets Jared Goff successfully throw a football to members of his own team.
“We pride ourselves on being real to the game,” said Madden 17 lead designer Geoff Purveaux. “But obviously we failed here. And while some glitches are fun and entertaining — players levitating and flying and that sort of thing — Jared Goff completing passes is far beyond the level of absurdity that anyone wants to accept.
