After vigorously pursuing Kyle Van Noy as a free agent in 2020 and signing him to a four-year $51 million deal, the Miami Dolphins have informed the linebacker that they plan to release him after just one season on their books.
Van Noy was a team captain for the Dolphins and started 13 of the 14 games he played in. He missed some time in October due to a hip injury but could rejoin the team in November. The former BYU product finished the season with 69 tackles, six sacks, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries.
Pro Football Focus gave Van Noy a 61.
