For a minute there I thought that the Dodgers were going to make better game decisions once they fired Don Mattingly. As we can see, that threat is over.
Rookie starter Ross Stripling, making his Major League debut, had a no-hitter going in the eighth against the Giants and a 2-0 lead, but then the most Dodgers thing happened. Stripling issued a walk, and new manager Dave Roberts came out and pulled him.
With five outs to go.
Must we fill in the rest? Reliever Chris Hatcher promptly gave up a two-run homer to catcher Trevor Brown (in the game to give Buster Posey a rest), and now the teams are locked at 2-2 going to extra innings.
