ESPN’s Kaylee Hartung broke one of the most hallowed baseball superstitions on Tuesday and depending on what you choose to believe, it may have cost TCU a win.
TCU junior Alex Young had no-hit Vanderbilt through six innings when Hartung, during an on-field interview before the seventh with Horned Frogs head coach Jim Schlossnagle, did the unspeakable: She mentioned the no-hitter.
“Knock on wood for TCU fans, a no-hitter for Alex Young through six,” Hartung prefaced. “Coach Jim Schlossnagle how do you explain his efficiency thus far?” Schlossnagle responded by rolling his head and telling her, “I can’t believe you just said that.
