You might think that someone as unemotive as Derek Jeter would take issue with baseball’s controversial celebration de jour, but you’d be wrong. Speaking with ESPN’s Karl Ravech during the Tampa Bay Rays-Cuban National Team game in Havana on Tuesday, Jeter made it clear that he dissents with the likes of Goose Gossage, who find expressions (of any kind) offensive.
“You’re always gonna have people who think there’s a certain way to play the game — and I’m one of them — but the game’s evolving and you want people to show their personalities, you want them to be them,” he said.
