Cam Inman of the San Jose Mercury is reporting San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel will miss the team’s final three regular-season games. Samuel suffered a hamstring injury in Sunday’s loss to the Washington Football Team.
Samuel’s absence on the field should increase opportunity for rookie Brandon Aiyuk. Currently accounting for a 22% market share of targets in 10 games played, Aiyuk could continue to see games of 10-plus targets, which he has had in the last three of his last four games. Part of a depleted receiving corp, expect him to receive the bulk of targets and Nick Mullens’ prime weapon, ahead of Kendrick Bourne and Jordan Reed.
