In an interview with NBC News, former Florida State QB De’Andre Johnson’s lawyer Jose Baez said his client was not the “initial aggressor” in the bar incident that prompted his dismissal.
After video surfaced of the June 24th incident, in which Johnson appears to punch a woman in a Tallahassee bar, Baez insisted Johnson is regretful, but did not act first. From the NBC story:
The woman raised her fist and shouted “racial epithets” at Johnson when the player accidentally made contact when he was walking up to the bar, lawyer Jose Baez told NBC News.
