Sure, the Minnesota Timberwolves increased their win total each year during David Kahn’s four-year tenure as team president of basketball of operations — if you count going from 15 to 17 to 26 to 31 wins as any great accomplishment, then perhaps you think Kahn did a heck of a job in Minneapolis.
But obviously that would make you an outlier, as the Wolves had the worst record in the NBA over Kahn’s stint (2009-13), 89-223, nine games further back than the next-to-worst team, the Wizards. Looking back at how poorly Kahn drafted, it’s no mystery why he wasn’t able to build a successful franchise.
