D’Angelo Russell is doubtful to play Saturday in the Minnesota Timberwolves rematch with the Oklahoma City Thunder, as he continues to deal with a lingering quad injury.
Russell played 31 minutes in the Timberwolves’ 106-103 win against the Thunder Friday night, scoring 21 points, four rebounds and six assists. An essential part of the Timberwolves’ production, he has averaged 30 minutes, scoring 20 points, three rebounds and five assists in 19 games this season.
Expect Ricky Rubio to start in place of Russell. He has mainly played from the bench, averaged 23 minutes, six points, three rebounds, and six assists per game.
