Chicago Cubs outfielder, Joc Pederson, will not be in the lineup Monday against the San Diego Padres. Pederson left the Cubs’ game early on Saturday after experiencing tightness in his back, sitting out Sunday’s contest as well.
The Cubs also give regular right fielder Jason Heyward the night off, which means that they are reconfiguring their outfield for the first of three games against the Padres. Kris Bryant will take over in right, with Ian Happ shifting to left and Jake Marisnick patrolling center.
Bryant is batting second and has a $4,300 salary on the after-hours slate at FanDuel.
