Nebraska pulled off a huge upset over undefeated, No. 7 Michigan State on Saturday night, thanks in large part to a controversial touchdown.
Down 38-33 with 38 seconds left, Huskers QB Tommy Armstrong connected with WR Brandon Reilly for a go-ahead 30-yard touchdown. But it appeared Reilly ran out of bounds and was the first player to touch the ball upon coming back in bounds en route to the touchdown, which would draw a flag and negate the play.
However, referees ruled that Reilly was forced out of bounds and upheld the touchdown, although the call was — to put it extremely mildly — questionable.
