Things are going pretty well for Gennady Golovkin. The unified middleweight champion of the world is also the newest Nike represented athlete in boxing. He is the third boxer ever (behind Roy Jones and Andre Ward) to be on the Jordan brand and for good reason. He has won 21 straight fights by knockout, 16 of which were title defenses.
Golovkin will look to push that streak to 22 and 17 on April 23, when he goes up against Dominic Wade at the Forum outside of Los Angeles on HBO. The native of Kazakhstani and 2013 The Ring magazine fighter of the year has been as dominant as any boxer in the sport and later this year could be on a collision course with Canelo Alvarez.
