The funny thing about NFL rivalries is that seem to come and go like nothing else. Seems like only yesterday that Seahawks-49ers was set to dominate our airwaves for the next decade….that is, until Seattle basically won every meaningful game in the rivalry and the 49ers told Jim Harbaugh “Yeahhhh we’re good with you, but since you hell on the sidelines, get out”.
Chiefs-Raiders managed to stay relevant longer than most NFL rivalries, losing its luster when the Raiders entered their post-Super Bowl XXXVII funk, and when most of America realized that the Chiefs…who until recently have had to play second fiddle in their own city to the ROYALS…are basically the New York Jets of the Midwest except you actually feel bad when all those unlike things happen to them.
