A list of the top-10 highest paid college football coaches in 2014 features all the usual suspects: Nick Saban, Bob Stoops, Charlie Strong, Urban Meyer and Les Miles, for instance. But there’s one name close to the top that might make Notre Dame and Kansas fans (well, any fan really) cringe: Charlie Weis.
Despite getting fired just four games into the 2014 season with Kansas, Weis made made a boatload of money between the $2.5 million he was owed by Kansas and approximately $2.05 million he was still owed by Notre Dame thanks to an ill-advised 10-year extension the Irish gave him just seven games into his ND tenure, amid good feelings from a strong start and the “Bush Push” game against USC.
