Cavan Biggio was held out of the starting lineup on Friday with a neck injury, although he did come in to pinch-hit in the bottom of the 11th. That must have exacerbated Biggio’s neck symptoms as the Toronto Blue Jays transferred him to the 10-day injured list with a cervical (neck) ligament sprain.

Biggio has assumed the position of offensive role player next to some of the star-studded youth that is the Blues Jays roster. In addition to his three home runs and 11 runs batted in, Biggio has an on-base percentage of .315, ranking ninth on the team.
