Brian Kelly has a message for his critics: Enough with the cupcakes.
On Tuesday’s “Rich Eisen Show,” Eisen asked the Notre Dame coach about comments from Gary Pinkel and Dabo Swinney about Notre Dame being an illegitimate playoff contender because they’re not in a conference. Kelly’s retort was short and sweet.
“Our situation is that we don’t play any I-AA (FCS) teams. I think that when they decide not to play I-AA teams then maybe we could be on an equal footing,” Kelly said. “We’re gonna play teams that give us a quality schedule and that’s all really we can control… We’ll continue to have a robust schedule and those are the 12 games we have.
